The Ten Bookateers

We meet every week with the aim to further improve reading (and sometimes writing!) at Culcheth Community Primary School. The Bookateers are also given time in their classes each week to share and gather ideas.
 
The Bookateers were very busy in the last academic year as they established the 'Book on a Page' reading initiative, organised three book sales, ran a 'Make your own Bookmark' competition, planned a 'Bring a Book to School Day', entered two Reading Plus competitions (coming 3rd and 1st raising over £300 to spend on new books for school), further developed class libraries and raised enough money for two brand new reading sheds in our school playgrounds.
 
We have got lots of exciting plans for the new school year so please watch this space!
