Year 4 have been learning about Romans as part of their topic week. During this time, the children have enjoyed finding out about how the Romans invaded Britain and all of the benefits, and negatives, that this brought. Particular highlights were finding out about Boudicca's rebellion, discovering all of the Roman towns and cities that still exist today, creating quizzes about the amazing Roman army and investigating the different types of Gladiators that fought.
The week culminated in Tony North, a Roman expert, coming into to school. He taught the children about Roman towns (before they built one from scratch), showed them Roman art (which they then re-created using metal art) and the children even created some Celtic jewellery. All in all, the children have learnt loads and had a lot of fun.
