I am extremely proud to be Chair of Governors at Culcheth Community Primary School. It is an excellent School which my own child attended. They thoroughly enjoyed their time at school and personally flourished. I became a governor 8 years ago so that I could assist the brilliant and extremely hardworking teachers to shape the future of the school so that it continues to grow from strength to strength.
I have been a resident in Culcheth for 22 years so I know many families within the Culcheth area.
I am a serving police officer with almost 29 years of service in Greater Manchester Police. I currently work for His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, Fire and Rescue Services HMICFRS as Lead Inspector for Police Forces in the North of the country. I am a specialist in Child Protection and other Public Protection matters. My previous role was Detective Chief Superintendent, Head of Safeguarding.
I am deeply passionate about protecting children and ensuring that every child is afforded the best opportunities in life. I hope to use my skills and experience to help, protect and support every child within the school.

Having grown up in West Yorkshire, I moved to Warrington in 2002, and have lived in Culcheth since 2007. I have a child that attends Culcheth Primary School
I am proud to work for the NHS, where I currently hold the position of Head of Clinical Research & Development in a local NHS Trust. I use the following skills on a daily basis including: overseeing the regulatory and governance requirements of clinical research, writing and implementing policies and strategy, project management, reporting to Trust Board and commissioners, collaborating with research funders and partners, and working with complex data and evidence. An important element of my role is encouraging and supporting clinicians to develop research careers and utilise research evidence alongside their routine clinical work to benefit the care patients receive.
Outside of work, I am a Magistrate on the North Cheshire bench; a voluntary role which provides me not only with important legal knowledge, listening, team working and reasoning skills, but more importantly an appreciation of the range of needs and experiences of communities living in Warrington.
I hope to contribute these transferable skills and experiences to support the school to achieve its vision of allowing each child to flourish and achieve their potential.

I have two children who attended Culcheth Primary school, I have been an active volunteer and helper and was a member of the school PTA within school for a number of years.

My trade is a florist, with over 20 years experience in the business, eight of those being a business owner.

Studying floristry and business at college for five years and I am qualified to teach, I also often publicly speak about retail and business within the sector, demonstrating my work.

My daily role is a varied one; it involves stock control, invoice checking and budget monitoring, team building and management, consumer satisfaction, designing and creating from scratch, problem solving and also dealing with a wide range of customers, suppliers and corporate accounts.

I have also been involved in my husband’s civil engineering company for the last 9 years, completing accounts, payroll, invoicing and I.T. management.

I’m very proud to say that I have raised several thousands of pounds for St Rocco’s hospice, a charity that is very personal to me and my family.

My experience in business, education and finance allows me to bring these qualities to the parent governor role. The role will allow me to listen, support, encourage and provide opportunities to all our children through the school they attend.

My family and I have relocated to Culcheth from Reading. I am originally from Tyldesley and my husband is from Manchester. I have a child that attends Culcheth Primary School

My background is in education and I have been teaching since 2013, originally teaching Science at Secondary school. For the last four years I have worked with infants in KS1 and Foundation stage and I currently teach Year 1 children. I was a parent governor at my children's last school for two years. Even though I am a teacher, I find it fascinating working ' behind the scenes', helping the school to stay on track in preparation for Ofsted and being involved in making some decisions about school.

As a teacher I am familiar with the data and statistics that the school has to produce and I understand the pressures of teaching in todays society.

My main focus as a governor is to help ensure that our children are getting the best education and school experience as possible in a safe environment. I hope to use my skills in teaching within the governing body but also giving my opinions from a parent's perspective.

Outside of work I like to sing in the local choir and I enjoy running.

Although I grew up in the south, I have lived and worked in and around Warrington for 27 years. In 2013 I moved with my husband to Glazebrook, and in 2015 we adopted a daughter, who now attends Culcheth Community Primary School.
My career has largely involved working with children and young people in an educational setting; I spent 15 years as a primary school teacher and 10 as a manager and teacher-trainer within the Warrington School Sport Partnership. I have previously been a staff governor at two Warrington schools.
For the last 7 years, I have been a programme manager for environment and regeneration charity, Groundwork. I spend most of my time working on projects seeking to deliver environmental improvements to the river systems around Greater Manchester, through delivery in partnership.
My family and I enjoy spending time in the outdoors whenever we can; I am a qualified Forest School Leader and in my spare time, I run forest school inspired family events.
I am keen to offer my experience and skills to support the school in its aspirations and ethos.

"I live in Culcheth and have twins who recently started at Culcheth Primary School (and are loving it!)
I am really passionate about making sure that there are equal opportunities for all and am excited to be taking up this role.
The role provides the chance to contribute to the growth of the school in the community that our children call home and spend so much of their time in.
These are likely to be the places that our children have their first experiences of all that life can bring and so should be a great experience for all.
My hope is that holding this role will allow me to be a spokesperson for us as parents to play a part in shaping this growth journey while also playing a part in helping to encourage continuous improvement and make the experience the best it possibly can be for our children from their very first day of school to the last day before they take the next steps up to high school.
The school experience does not stop when the school day finishes and is weaved into all of our lives as parents whether that be through after school clubs, friendship groups or even homework - I think this role should reflect that and like to take the approach that two heads is better than one, always supporting collaboration therefore would like to use the role as a way to make sure that the voices of all wishing to contribute are heard by sharing ideas and (hopefully) helping turn them into a reality wherever possible.
I work in a project delivery background and can bring a fresh set of eyes to challenges the school faces to look at them in terms of operations and also the way the school runs in a business sense to drive continuous improvement.
In my day job I work with teams on transformation programmes to meet organisational needs and address challenges simultaneously.
One of the things I enjoy most about my work is the human element - having the ability to speak to people and understand how change is making a difference to them. I am a firm believer that any changes put into action should lead to differences that can be seen and felt by individuals on a day-to-day basis and hope to be able to bring this to the parent governor role.
Outside of work the twins keep me on my toes with their increasingly busy social calendars!"

Originally from Endon, Stoke, I moved to the Warrington area in 1998 to join Ernst and Young in their Wealth Management team, working across the Manchester and Liverpool offices. After 7 years at Ernst and Young, I joined BDO, eventually heading up their Wealth Management Division. In 2013 I started Millcroft Wealth Management with business partner, Adele Ravenscroft. We now own and operate a successful independent, financial management company, based from offices in Manchester City Centre, representing clients across the NW. After settling in Warrington, I purchased a house in Croft in 2000, before moving to Culcheth in 2015. This area has always been my home and we love the community feel. This has been made even more apparent since having two children. Our eldest child attends Culcheth Community Primary School and our youngest currently attends Culcheth Day Nursery. It is important that both our children are educated locally, and both will attend Culcheth High School. I am delighted to offer my knowledge of business management and financial governance to assist the school maximise the return on their budget and be available to assist in all matters wherever possible. Creating the best environment for our children to thrive and enjoy life is extremely important. Being a Governor will afford me the opportunity to offer something in return for all the hard work and dedication given by the staff and all those involved with the school. Bringing over 30 years of experience within the private sector, and the ability to manage businesses successfully, I hope to offer an alternative voice and perspective.
