The Bookateers

We meet every week with the aim to further improve reading (and sometimes writing!) at Culcheth Community Primary School. The Bookateers are also given time in their classes each week to share and gather ideas.
 
So far, the Bookateers have established the 'Book on a Page' reading initiative, organised many book fairs, ran lots of competitions including a 'Make your own Bookmark' competition, planned 'Bring a Book to School Days', entered two Reading Plus competitions (coming 3rd and 1st raising over £300 to spend on new books for school), further developed class libraries and raised enough money for two brand new reading sheds in our school playgrounds.
 
We have got lots of exciting plans for the new school year so please watch this space!
